Description

This short reel of film offers a sense of the carnival atmosphere of the Ballyclare May Fair. Shot by Reverend Harold Allen, see punters celebrate their winnings from the fair games, feasting on pokes from Ballyclare institution Harry McKeen, and catch a glimpse of famous Belfast pet shop owner, Cecil Creighton.

Reverend Allen moved to Ballyclare in 1955. Towards the end of the video, there is a shot of Reverend Allen with some visitors at the Manse.
