Oliver McGilloway present's McGilloway's Way, a programme which celebrates the dramatic and beautiful landscapes surrounding Ulster.
This episode is set by sea and rivers, where human's impact on the environments surrounding these waters are analysed. Beaches are something which many in Ireland "take for granted" but much of the characteristics of the beaches we know have been the same "for thousands of years".
Meet James, a local who chats to McGilloway about the ducks in the area and how humans occasionally pluck the down out of nests which protect their young. Later on in the programme, we are taken to a Fanad Lighthouse, Co. Donegal, and told that "men have used some form of lighthouse, almost as long as they have sailed these open seas'. Fanad itself is an attractive structure which blends into the landscape, adding to the environment and not taking away from it - the main take way message of this episode.
