Description

Memorial service for the anniversary of Stormberg. Two veterans of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles attended the ceremony at the statue at Belfast City Hall that commemorates those lost. Lord Mayor Jenkins also attended. 

Notes

The Battle of Stormberg took place on 10th December 1899, during the Boer War in South Africa. The Battle of Stormberg was the first British defeat of Black Week, in which three successive British forces were defeated by Boer irregulars in the Second Boer War.
