Description

Charlie Witherspoon explores the world of modern art. The film begins with some cut-offs pieces of film and images from an installation at an unidentified museum. The pieces are being moved and we follow their journey to Belfast. This is polychrome sculpture and an exhibition has opened at the Ulster Museum. Charlie does his best to describe the colours of the pieces. He doesn’t appear convinced by the work but admits it’s just something new to him and us.

The sculptors featured include Roland Piche. David Annesley and Derrick Woodham.

Polychromatic sculpture is an art movement led by Anthony Caro, an English abstract sculptor who had worked with Henry Moore.
