Description

Rally driving fans will delight in this superb footage of the Monte Carlo Rally of 1964. Not only was the rally won that year by Northern Ireland’s famous driver Paddy Hopkirk, but it was also the first time that the competition had been won by anyone driving a Mini. There is excellent footage inside one of the cars driving round the winding course and the scenery paints a beautiful landscape against the racing vehicles. Pat Moss, sister of the legendary Stirling Moss, was the winner of the ladies event and the trophies handed out to her and Hopkirk are given by Prince Ranier and the eternally glamorous Princess Grace of Monaco, formerly known as the Hollywood actress Grace Kelly.
