Description

This short reel shows more scenes from the 1948 Boy’s Auxiliary Camp at Castlerock. Some of the film is faded with age, however it is still possible to see many interesting things. Details include the arrival of trains bearing the camp’s contingent; the arrival of international vistors; and some of the mock ceremonies that occurred that summer. Newspaper records reveal the names of the international delegates as Mr Obedbhai and Mr Himmathlal from India; Mr Kenneth Li from China; and Mr Thomas Grillo from Ghana. The author of this footage, Reverend Harold Allen, was attending this camp as an adjutant. The Boy's Auxiliary camp hosted missionaries from around the world each year, and promoted missionary work for the boys and young men who attended.
