Description

This short piece of film showing young women working in Belfast factories in the late 1960s comes from a documentary UTV made about the Drumalla Holiday House retreat in Carnlough. This venture was set up by concerned women to provide a respite for underprivileged factory workers and schoolgirls in the inner city of Belfast under the Belfast Girls Club Union. Although the main documentary no longer exists, this and several other lengthier fragments of it survive to be viewed on the Digital Film Archive.
