Description

D Graham looks at his selection letter for the 1964 Olympics while at work. Mary Rand is visiting Mary Peters and we get to see Mary’s lovely house with all the latest mod cons.

Notes

Mary Rand won the long jump at the 1964 Summer Olympics by breaking the world record, the first British female to win an Olympic gold medal in track and field. She remains the only Great Britain female athlete to win three medals in a single Games.

Mary Peters, competing for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, won the gold medal in the women's pentathlon in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. She had finished 4th in 1964 and 9th in 1968.
