Part of a series that looks at the lesser-known parts of Northern Ireland, this episode looks at the life of Belfast's docks in Sailorstown, a once vital area disrupted by the construction of a road that ran right through it. Development in this area disrupted not only the life of the community who lived and wokred there, but also the environmental balance of the area. The history of Sailortown is the history of industry in Belfast, and its decline is a sad indication of the short-sighted nature of much city planning. Thankfully, local community groups have been working to restore life to the area, and St Joseph's Church was reopened in May 2018. A particular delight of this programme is the footage of the blessing of the pets, at around 21.30.
