Description

Popular Ulster Television presenter Gloria Hunniford learns the secrets of how to take better photographs in this piece, which was probably an insert for the local evening news programme, Good Evening Ulster. Also featured as Gloria’s subject is her daughter, Caron Keating, who went onto become a famous presenter herself. The photographer sharing his experience is Stanley Matchett, who often brought his invaluable knowledge to local programming on photography matters. For many years he was a photojournalist for the Daily Mirror during the period of The Troubles and received an MBE for his services to photojournalism.

Some of Stanley's moving image work with 8mm film cameras is also available to view on the Digital Film Archive as part of Super 8 Stories.
