Description

Everybody out! This brief silent footage shows a picket line by striking workers outside the famous Sirocco rope factory in east Belfast just beside the railway bridge on Bridge End. At one time the factory was the largest manufacturer of rope in the world at a time when it was an important commodity. The placards on show in this strike action don’t seem to convince everyone as there is a stream of workers going in and out past the line.
