Description

Christmas crime features largely in this edition of Police Six, however, police also appeal for information in connection to the attempted murder in Derry and a bomb explosion on Market Street in Lisburn.

Items becoming increasingly popular with thieves this year are fine oriental rugs. Twice within a few days, a warehouse in Coleraine was broken into and a selection of rugs stolen. As Keith Burnside points out, ‘Christmas is traditionally a time of giving and receiving but it’s also a time for thieving.’ It is arguably one of the busiest times of the year for the criminal. Back in the studio, Keith Burnside and Detective Chief Inspector Sam Young discuss what precautions can be taken to minimise the chances of getting robbed over Christmas.
