Description

Candy Devine presents Rejoice, a programme which incorporates biblical themes into music. This episode focuses on the topic 'gratitude' and what we can learn from Christian scriptures to continue to be thankful for what we have.

The first performance is The Salvation Army who sing 'He Will Hand me the Bounty Down' with Candy stating that sometimes it "takes a good tune to take what we find hard to put into words... a musical magical telegram to God". Next up is Puleli et Pueri Cantores, a children's choir from Newry.

A biblical passage about Jesus and the Lepers is read aloud with children's drawings depicting the story, showing we can sometimes receive more when we are grateful and remember to thank those that have helped us.

Ending the programme is Major Harkum of the Salvation Army who stresses the importance of saying thanks and remind ourselves of the good that has been done to us and that the true spirit of gratitude has elements of surprise and wonder.
