Candy Devine presents Rejoice, a programme which incorporates biblical themes into music. This episode focuses on the topic of 'growth' and what we can learn from Christian scriptures to help us grow as people and to accept the eventuality of our children growing up.
The first performance is by Rodney Cordner who sings 'What's the Difference?' with a fiddle and guitar backing. Candy explains that we start to lose our innocence as we grow up and become cynical, however we depend on other's more than we realise. Next up is Crossfire who's lyrics speak about how when trying to be self-sufficient we can miss out on something more important.
A biblical passage about Jesus as a child during passover is read aloud with children's drawings illustrating the story, showing that defining moment when a child starts to show independence.
Ending the programme is Professor Roy McCleland who studies personal development and what happens when there is a breakdown in the process.
