Description

Film of the Northern Ireland artist and cartoonist Rowel Friers at work in his Holywood home. Friers was famous as a cartoonist for several decades for the Belfast Telegraph and other publications and also created the Northern Ireland mascot for the 1982 World Cup, Yer Man. Here we see him starting off at his drawing desk with a sketch, which he later inks in, before showing off the completed work to his family. We also see him walking about Dundonald village, looking for inspiration for his work.
