Scenes of splendour abound as a regal welcome is extended to royal visitors.
Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, members of the royal family would be regular visitors to Northern Ireland. Be it the Queen Mother in 1958, or Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh at Carrickfergus Castle (1961), this film captures the fervour with which the esteemed visitors were received.
In Carrickfergus, Her Majesty meets Mayor Tommy Patterson.
