Interviewed by Jimmy Robinson of Ulster Television, Ruby Murray talks about her career and private life on the Grove Theatre stage in Belfast. 

Ruby was one of the biggest recording artists in the UK and Ireland in her 50’s heyday. Talented singer and actor, Ruby continued performing until close to the end of her life. The Ulster History blue plaque commemorating Ruby Murray is located near to her childhood home on the Donegall Road.

The Troxy Cinema first opened in 1936 and with a revamp in 1965 it changed its name to the Grove Theatre presenting a mixture of films and theatre. Films were eventually omitted from its programming in 1977 and the Grove Theatre continued as a variety theatre. The building was damaged by fire during the Troubles and eventually completely destroyed.
