Description

Sheehy Skeffington: Pacifist tells the life story of Frank Sheehy Skeffington, the Downpatrick born pacifist, feminist and journalist who was cruelly executed at the start of the Easter Rising in 1916. He was an eye witness to key moments in Irish history - a friend of James Joyce, a colleague of James Connolly and the partner of Hanna Sheehy Skeffington, Ireland's most prominent feminist activist. His pointless murder made headlines across the world, contributing to the growing demand for independence in revolutionary Ireland, while acting to obscure his role in the formation of modern Ireland.
