Surprisingly this event never took off as a major televised sport - but at least UTV did cover the winner on the news. Yes, it's the exciting world of competitive shoe mending! We know that this event was held at the International Hotel in Belfast and that Ed Craig was the runner up. Meanwhile, going home with the glory and the adoration of all who attended was the champion shoe mender - Mr Michael Power of Drogheda.
