Description

Belfast was privileged in October 1963 to receive a promotional visit from the famous racing driver, Stirling Moss. However, he had swapped his famous sleek racing car for a Purity Irish pork sausage transport vehicle, advertising their express Belfast to Liverpool transport links. Moss had only recently retired from Formula One racing following a dreadful crash which had left him in a coma for some months and then paralysed on one side. Although he made a full recovery, he quickly announced his retirement after some tentative practice sessions on a track. As part of his trip to Belfast he was also interviewed by UTV, a clip available in the links below.
