Keady man, Cahal McSherry, was working as a nurse in St Luke’s Hospital, Armagh when he was bitten by the movie-making bug. “I was always interested in movies. I had worked part time as a cinema projectionist in Keady and full time at the Ritz Cinema, Armagh before buying myself a Bell & Howell Standard 8mm camera.” Cahal has many memories of showing his friends the results of his filming. “We had lots of laughs in country houses showing the film of a wedding to the local community for a bride and groom’s homecoming.” Nowadays Cahal has his movies transferred digitally and says, “Money could not buy the memories I have when seeing them”.
