Description

The attendees of a one-day school at Magee College. The theme of the school was ‘The Development of an Area – West Ulster’. Those speaking included Senator Garret FitzGerald, who would later become Taoiseach of the Republic of Ireland. Professor Norman Burges, Vice-Chancellor of the new University of Ulster, Mr JT O’Brien of the Ulster Farmers’ Union and Professor JR Parkinson of Queen’s. 

The School examined the potential development of the north-west of Northern Ireland and Derry City in particular.  

In the evening, Minister William Craig and others spoke at a dinner.
