At an INTO (Irish National Teachers' Organisation) conference in Larne, the Minister for Education, William Fitzsimmons, addresses the delegates. He talks of possible changes in the structure of the education system, and a shortage of teachers. He predicts the possibility of ancillary teachers, to the consternation of the audience.
Another speaker (possibly the Chairman) also addresses the
delegates. He demands the establishment of a general teaching council in
Northern Ireland so that teachers may express their concerns and thoughts.
