Description

Gerry Kelly reports back to the Ulster people the success of Telethon '88, which hosted twelve months prior, a 24 hour party in the Ulster Television carpark.

The money raised went to a number of organisations such as the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, as well as Elderly groups. In fact as Wilson Ervin (Chairman of the Ulster Telethon Trust) tells us, over 600 charities benefitted from the event with over £600,000 raised. And as the money was raised right across the province, the distribution of it was also fairly matched.
