Description

For decades after the setting up of a parliament in Northern Ireland following partition, the civil service connected to government had struggled for space in the old buildings around Stormont. A modern solution needed to be found and that was realised in the building of Dundonald House nearby. The building was formally opened by the new Northern Ireland Prime Minister Terence O’Neill and the Governor of Northern Ireland, Lord Wakehurst. The footage shows their arrival along with their speeches inside.
