In 1930s Northern Ireland, the old woman who looks after the dying, Granny Greer, tells the story of the devil to a dying woman.

James Ellis was a highly-lauded actor and theatre director from Belfast. He became a household name due to his role as Bert Lynch in the groundbreaking BBC series, Z Cars. He had roles in a diverse range of acclaimed series, from Boys from the Blackstuff to the Billy plays trilogy.
