Description

Pat Coyle presents this series which deals with current news and intricacies of religious faiths.

This episode looks at the recent arson attacks of local churches - both catholic and protestant - and the effects it has on the congregation, and the community as a whole. Fr. Dan Whyte, describes how watching his church burn was "like a bereavement", similarly, Rev. Gordon Best said that there was a feeling of disbelief and the worry of where to go from here. Both however, have been adamant that neither of the congregations feel any bitterness and have put in effort to make this so. What both Fr. Whyte and Rev. Best, have found is that they've received support from both sections of the community.

Another topic talked about on the programme, is the efforts being made to bring the concept of a 'Thanksgiving Square' to fruition. Andy Scott is the artist tasked with designing an original sculpture to decorate the square, and he discusses how it will be infused with the historical theory of thanksgiving, as well as Celtic mythology, and the use of the female figure.
