Description

Charles Witherspoon addresses the issue of emergency planning at Belfast City Hospital. He meets Mr Bill Bolger, Civil Defence Officer in charge of the Hospital Reserve Service. Mr Bolger speaks of the need for emergency planning in the case of nuclear war or a peacetime disaster.

Charles also talks to Charge Nurse William Ryan and Reservist Miss Edwards who is a secretary. She discusses the training and why she enjoys it. She then stabilises Charlie’s ‘broken wrist’.

There are 3000 reservists at this time and 3000 more are needed.
