Description

This silent piece of footage is a UTV news report on the handover of a curragh to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum. This curragh had been famous just the year before when the Church of Ireland decided to re-enact the voyage of St Columbus from Derry to Iona in the 14th Century. Wallace Clark who skippered the vessel on that occasion is one of those seen in the footage.

A colour film of the 1963 voyage is also available on the Digital Film Archive.
