Description

This episode explores the people who make and play the guitar in Belfast.

Focused on Irish traditional music, the viewer is told that the acoustic guitar is a relatively new import to the scene, introduced in the last few decades as part of the folk music revival.

Ciaran O'Kane, a guitar maker, talks us through the various parts of the guitar and the steps required to construct one. Another interviewee discusses the different styles of playing and how other music, such as rock and roll ,has slowly been intregrated with traditional playing styles.
