Description

A film by Samuel Bracegirdle, showing the 1958 visit of the Queen Mother to Northern Ireland. 

There is a parade of floats to welcome her. The floats show local industry. 

Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia is shown decked out with bunting. 

A band plays outside Stormont, and the Queen Mother greets the crowds.  

Notes

Samuel Bracegirdle was an amateur filmmaker from Belfast, his work dates from the 1950s to the 1970s. Many of his films show his home life and holidays with family and friends. He also took an interest in local history and Unionist heritage.
