Description

A film by Samuel Bracegirdle, showing the 11th Night bonfires and preparationgs for the 12th of July. 

The films shows planes landing at Belfast City Airport, and boats arriving at the port in Belfast. People were arriving from Glasgow to take part. 

We see children constructing bonfires from branches and old furniture, and marches in the city centre.  

Notes

Samuel Bracegirdle was an amateur filmmaker from Belfast, his work dates from the 1950s to the 1970s. Many of his films show his home life and holidays with family and friends. He also took an interest in local history and Unionist heritage.
