Description

Part of ITV's travelogue series, About Britain, in this programme we find Michael Duffy strolling through the countryside, meeting local people and hearing their stories. His aim, to see the "countryside through the eyes of the people who live the Ulster way". This part of the tour of the Ulster Way takes a closer look at the land of Roe, bog and Sperrin Mountains.

The Sperrins, land that tells the story of ancient clan wars and legends, is one of the largest upland areas in Northern Ireland and is considered by many a hidden gem for its wild and unspoiled scenery. It is nowadays enjoyed by locals, conservationists and tourists alike, seeking peace and tranquillity. Meander through the deep valleys, do a spot of fly-fishing and enjoy all that the mighty Sperrins has to offer. Roe Valley Country Park offers a variety of routes along the riverside and through woodland. Combining legend with industrial and natural heritage the park has a great appeal.
