Description

Recorded in the Ulster Hall, Belfast, with the Ulser Orchestra. 

The Orchestra performs, Beethoven's 'Violin Concerto' which is written in the traditional three movements;

  • Allegro ma non troppo (D major)
  • Larghetto (G major)
  • Rondo. Allegro (D major)
With a captive audience the footage highlight the precision and skill of these musicians. Conducted by Janos Furst and Led by Richard Howarth.

Notes

Ludwig van Beethoven composed his Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, in 1806. Its first performance by Franz Clement was unsuccessful and was revived in 1844 by Joseph Joachim. Since then it has become one of the best-known violin concertos.
