Description

Work is in full swing at Ulster Television Havelock House as the workers push on with the second studio extension. A small crowd have gathered here to watch Anne Gregg and Adrienne McGuill (Catherwood) as they ceremoniously burry a box with papers and film into the foundations. The footage shows one of the workers skilfully closing the gap and covering the time capsule with cement and bricks. Others continue the work outdoors and indoors, carrying bricks up the scaffolding, bricklaying and painting the window frames.

The footage includes various views of the exterior of Havelock House and the new studio extension. Interior shots of the extension show technicians setting up the equipment as well as film technicians working with film reels, editing and making cement splices. The second studio extension opened in 1962.
