UTV news report with Cara McCann and Amanda McGurk who were one of the first couples in Northern Ireland to convert their civil partnership into a civil marriage.

Notes

Same-sex marriage has been legal in Northern Ireland since 13 January 2020, following the enactment of the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation etc) Act 2019. The first marriage ceremony took place on 11 February 2020. Regulations to enable those in civil partnerships to convert their relationship status to marriage were laid in Parliament on 22 October 2020, with the first conversions taking place from 7 December 2020.
