Description

In Dublin, tensions are rising as the 50th anniversary of the Easter Rising nears. Nelson’s Pillar had already been blown up in a bomb attack by the IRA and these memorials to the 1916 Republicans had been daubed with red paint. It was unclear who had done this but suspicions focussed on an IRA splinter group trying to further stir tensions.
