Description

This report covers the attempts to make medical treatment more accessible for deaf people and people experiencing hearing loss.

Research from the RNID has found that a quarter of deaf people leaving medical appointments don't fully understand what was being communicated to them. Videophones are seen as an aid to help deaf people. Interpreters can listen in on the appointment and offer sign language translations to help the patient communicate more effectively with their doctor.
