Belfast on Film: A Presentation from the Digital Film Archive

The Strand opened in 1935 and is now the oldest cinema in Northern Ireland. It is also unique in its distinctive architectural style which merges Art Deco with shipyard influences.
To mark European Heritage Open Days 2015, the cinema will host an illustrated talk on Saturday, 12 September, from Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive, with material depicting different aspects of life in Belfast throughout the Twentieth Century. The films will showcase Belfast society, industry, pastimes, significant places and personalities.
Talks, Saturday 12 September at 11am and 1pm (1 hr) - no booking required, just turn up.
Between screenings, there will also be an opportunity for free tours of the cinema on Saturday - from 11am-7pm - and on Sunday - 2-7pm.
