DFA Staff Pick: Window Cleaning World Record

Date: 10/01/2025 11:08

Hold onto your squeegees! Ronan Kelly brings you the latest scoop on Six Tonight from Lurgan, where a local window cleaner is going for a world record – and not just any record, but the fastest window cleaning ever. A quirky three-sided structure has popped up in a Lurgan car park, with windows on all sides, and Gerald Follis is ready to tackle them all in less time than it takes to water a house plant. The current record is 14.9 seconds, but Gerald’s confident he can clean all three windows in under 12 – if everything goes to plan.

As he takes on the challenge, Gerald tells Ronan he’s nailed it in practice, but the official stopwatch is a whole other story. The action kicks off with Gerald making his attempt, and after the dust (and maybe some soapy bubbles) settle, we catch up with him for an update. But just when you think it’s over, Ronan jumps in for his own shot at window-cleaning glory. By the time he finishes though, the crowd has already vanished. Looks like Ronan should stick to cleaning his own windows!
