Eastside Lives: Bangor On Screen, 24th July 2024

Date: 10/07/2024 10:56

Where: The Old Market House, Bangor

When: Wednesday July 24th, 10am - 1pm

Come to the newly re-opened Old Market House in Bangor to see a collection of film of the town through the years. Memories of times gone by and a chance to share stories of the past.

The Digital Film Archive has an amazing selection of film of Bangor going back to the 19th century. Where better to show these than in a building at the heart of the town! A Kilcooley Women’s Centre project, The Old Market House has been a landmark in the centre of Bangor since the 18th Century. Over the last two centuries it has been a market house, a courthouse, an infant school, Bangor’s Town Hall and, most recently, a bank.

Empty since 2019, this iconic building is now entering the next phase of its existence. Purchased by Kilcooley Women’s Centre (KWC) in 2020, the vision is to regenerate The Old Market House into a vibrant heritage, community and enterprise space.

Admission is free but tickets must be booked in advance and are limited to two per booking. You can book your ticket and learn more about the project at https://theoldmarkethouse.co.uk/

Part of the Eastside Lives Bangor: Lives Revisited Through Heritage programme. Eastside Lives Bangor is a Kilcooley Women’s Centre Project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
