New to the Digital Film Archive is Jenny’s Country Cooking, hosted by a UTV favourite, Jenny Bristow. Bristow is a Northern Irish cook and cookery writer, brought up on her family’s dairy farm near Coleraine.
A former home economics teacher at Cambridge House in Ballymena, Bristow made her first television appearance on Ulster Television's Farming Ulster in 1989. Here, she demonstrated how to cook with potatoes, which led a producer at the station to offer Bristow her own series.
In this series, Jenny cooks from her own home and takes popular dishes from around the world and adapts them for everyday life in a Northern Irish household. Popular cuisines from the American waffle, to the Italian pizza have been reimagined and made accessible for a variety of people
