As part of the Belfast Film Festival, QFT will host a survey of the work of Mairéad McClean.

The Beragh-born, London-based artist's relationship with the festival stretches back to 2009, her documentary 'For The Record' receiving its premiere that year. More recently, in 2014, MacClean was the recipient of the inaugural MAC International Art Prize for the video piece, 'No More'.

Spanning 1991 to 2016, this illustrated talk will chart the course of the artist's work, from early works through to the present, including the debut screening of ‘Memories of My Mother’ a 2015 collaboration with the National Museum of Ireland Migrant Women project. Amongst the other works to be exhibited is 'Movements Recollected' - recently digitised as part of the BFI's Unlocking Film Heritage project.

Throughout these works the theme of the past and memory  - fluid, subjective, unreliable - is prevalent.
