The DFA in the Druthaib's Ball

The DFA in the Druthaib's Ball

Date: 31/07/2023 16:56

This is the last month to see 'The Druthaib's Ball' by Array Collective at the Ulster Museum.

The imagined síbín (a ‘pub without permission’) invites visitors into a place of contradictions where trauma, dark humour, frustration, and release coexist. It is a place to gather outside the sectarian divides that have dominated the collective memory in the North for the last hundred years. Look out for an old TV showing Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive. This 35 minute archive montage includes Irish mythology, landscape, folk traditions, protests, the Agreement referendum, adverts, the border and the Irish Names Quilt. These come from the UTV Archive and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, made between 1959-1998.

Exhibition closes on Sunday 3rd September 2023

Opening Hours:

Tuesday -Sunday 10am - 5pm (closed on Mondays).
