Tot

New to the Digital Film Archive is Tot, made by local animation company, Taunt Studios, and funded through Northern Ireland Screen’s Creative Animation Scheme, with support from the BFI NETWORK awarding funds from the National Lottery.

Winner of 'Best Animated Short' at the Galway Film Fleadh 2020 and screened amongst the competition films at Encounters Film Festival, TOT is a short animation following a self-titled protagonist as she travels through a fantastical universe, attempting to overcome the death of a sibling. 

Described as a journey of deliverance, she proceeds with only her mask and a glowing jar and is shown the way by a mysterious woodland creature. Venturing through the forest alone, her grief is lifted as the light in the jar breaks out and the sun appears through the trees.
