Description

This short film from ImageNation NI captures a ceremony at the ISKCON Krishna Temple in Dunmurry, one of Belfast’s three Hindu temples, or Mandirs. In Hinduism, pouring milk on idols is a symbolic gesture representing nourishment, purity, and sustenance. Milk, a staple of the Hindu diet, is also used in purification rituals. The building hosting the Mandir was originally a residential home known as Brooklands, which was converted into the ISKCON Krishna Temple in 1984.
