Description

This video from ImageNation showcases highlights from the 2023 Diwali celebrations at Belfast City Hall. Diwali is a significant festival in Hinduism and other Indian religions. It is known as the Festival of Lights and symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. It usually takes place between October and mid-November, aligning with the Hindu month of Kartika, depending on different traditions.

The video captures the vibrant festivities, featuring the distinctive sounds of dholaks, sitars, zithers, swarmandals, and tablas. Dancers perform a mix of traditional and contemporary routines, celebrating the rich multicultural heritage of India and the Indian community in Northern Ireland.
