Description

This short video is a compilation of various short films documenting a garden project initiated by the women's group, ANAKA. The film captures the collective effort of these women as they plant seeds for a variety of plants, including lettuce, strawberries, and blueberries. It highlights their journey in learning the skills necessary to care for the garden, fostering a sense of community and empowerment. The film serves as both a documentary and an educational tool, showcasing the process and benefits of community gardening. It emphasizes themes of sustainability, community engagement, and the empowerment of women through collective action.

ANAKA is a women’s collective based in North Belfast that aims to provide education, support, and empowerment for migrant women in Belfast. Comprising members from diverse nationalities, ANAKA creates a space for cultural exchange and community building, helping migrant women to integrate and thrive within their new environment.
