Description

In this reflective documentary, Andrew Trimble, the retired rugby player, delves into the complex transition from a career defined by professional sport to a life beyond it. Retiring in 2018, Trimble grapples with the question: Who am I now? Beyond the rugby field, this introspective journey takes a closer look at the shifting social and political landscapes in Northern Ireland, exploring the nuances of identity in a post-Brexit world.

The film navigates through the evolving discourse on national affiliation, sectarian divides, and personal beliefs, questioning whether old loyalties still define individuals or if it’s possible for multiple identities to coexist. With insights into the legacy of sport, culture, and faith, it challenges the traditional binary of Irish identity, offering an intimate and candid exploration of the personal complexities involved. The documentary includes thoughtful commentary on the future of Northern Ireland, as well as the subject’s reflections on being part of a generation that seeks a middle ground - one that does not feel compelled to choose between past divisions.
