In 1984 Ulster scored a remarkable victory over an
Australian rugby side, with the legendary David Campese in their ranks, who had
defeated all four national teams (England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland) in
their tour of the British Isles. But Australia then found themselves up against
an Ulster side that was just about to embark on a run of ten Irish Inter
Provincial titles in a row.
Ulster's
victory is still fondly remembered today, and this report for Good Evening
Ulster features match highlights as well as that famous winning kick from
Philip Rainey, who is interviewed afterwards.
